This research aims to determine the level of acquisition of basic, technical and musical behaviors in piano education by students receiving professional music education at the university level. For this purpose, the research was carried out within the framework of the survey model, which is one of the quantitative research methods. The research was conducted in the 2023-2024 academic year in Turkey in conservatories, music departments affiliated with fine arts faculties, and music education departments affiliated with education faculties, with faculty members who provide piano education in courses such as basic piano and auxiliary piano, other than major piano. In this regard, a total of 96 faculty members from 52 universities participated in the research. In the research, a personal information form and a survey form designed to determine the students' level of acquisition of basic, technical and musical behaviors in piano education, according to the opinions of the instructor, were used as data collection tools. The prepared survey form was presented to faculty members face to face and online. The distribution of the instructors' answers to the items was analyzed as percentage (%) and frequency (f) and their positive or negative opinions were interpreted. On the other hand, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was applied to compare the answers given according to institution type. In the research, in line with the opinions of the instructors, it was concluded that the music teaching students of the conservatory, faculty of fine arts and faculty of education acquired basic behaviors to a great extent within the scope of piano education given in courses such as auxiliary piano / basic piano other than the main instrument piano, and they acquired technical and musical behaviors at a moderate level. In addition, it was determined that the answers given by the faculty members did not differ depending on the type of institution they work in.
