Abstract


THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PRESCHOOL TEACHERS' CURRICULUM LITERACY AND CURRICULUM AWARENESS

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between preschool teachers' curriculum literacy and curriculum awareness. The study group of the research consists of preschool teachers working in public schools in a province in the east of Turkey. In this study, the sample was determined by reaching 212 preschool teachers. The study is a survey type of quantitative research method. The data were analyzed using SPSS package program. The tests to be conducted were decided according to the assumptions of the analysis. Mann- Whitney U Test was applied to analyze the variables according to gender, and Kruskal-Wallis H Test was applied according to age, seniority and educational status. Spearman Correlation Analysis was used to determine whether there is a relationship between curriculum literacy and curriculum awareness. According to the findings of the study, it was seen that teachers differed according to gender and educational status in the curriculum literacy scale. In the curriculum awareness scale of teachers, a significant difference was found according to educational status. No significant difference was found in both scales according to age and length of service variables. A positive, moderate relationship was found between preschool teachers' curriculum literacy and curriculum awareness.
