Abstract
USE OF KARACHAY TURKISH IN DIASPORA CASE OF ESKISEHIR
In this paper, we will dwell on use of Karachay Turkish which is a diaspora dialect in Eskisehir. Karachays who is expelled from theri homeland in caucasus because of Russian cruelty, immigrated to Anatolia as three big wave. They were placed to the villages in Ankara, Eskisehir, Afyon and Tokat.
Karachays who related to their culture, didin’t break loose from their individualism as protecting their language and culture where they were placed but in process of time disintegrations started to appear locally under the influence of dominant culture and language. Especially immigraion from village to city made fast this process.
Karachay Turkish has been gradually losing its feature of holding together Karachays and reflecting their ethnic identity mostly. Karachay Turkish that left most usage areas of language to dominant language standard Turkey Turkish, reached to condition of a dialct which can be used in mid-thirties and forties and more in families.
