Abstract
HUMOROUS EPICS AT TRADITION OF KEMENÇECİLİK IN GİRESUN REGION
The tradition of kemençecilik in Giresun region, there are similar properties with minstrelsy tradition in terms of logic of performance, technic, setting and its culture circle. There are differences in only musical instruments and some traditional properties. This severe relation between these two traditions has engendered the result of production of similar products in context of shape and kind. One of the leading sorts of minstrelsy tradition is “epic”. The tradition of kemençecilik has given works like epic, as in the tradition of minstrelsy. As known, minstrels create these epics that told about every topic, with the forms “koshma” and “mani”. The representatives of the tradition of kemençecilik, have carried out the epics that based on varied topics, with the form of seven-syllable-mani, as in other plenty of works.
In this study, humorous epics of the tradition of kemençecilik in Giresun region have been tried to be evaluated on the text with the title “Epic” that carried out by Kemal İpşir (Durkaya), and known as the oldest example, and “Köroğun Bemece’si” and “Feysbuk” by İbrahim Gülpınar. At this point, except the properties of form and variety, the functions of the humorous epics produced in tradition, the individual or social events effecting their formation and the relations with the form of anectode have been discussed.
