Abstract
THE EVALUATION OF 4HT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS' CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS IN TERMS OF SOME VARIABLES
This study aimed to investigate critical thinkings skills of primary school students in terms of several variables. 261 students participated in this study in which it was carried out in Diyarbakır, Silvan town and 2015-2016 at academic years. One of the quantitative research designs, survey model was employed in study. A personal form and critical thinking skills scale by Görücü (2014) who developed it and performed the procedures of reliability and validity were used. The findings showed that primary students’ critical thinking skills are at medium level. They also point out that course achievement (%27) is a variable mostly explaining the variance on critical thinking, respectively the number of book read (%19), and parental income (%0,50). Furthermore, we proved that gender and time of watching TV are no associated with critical thinking skills.
