Hasan Ali Toptaş is one of the living authors of Contemporary Turkish Literature. It is known that there are autobiographical traces from his childhood and town life in the novels of the artist. It has been seen that the author has brought together some products of Turkish folk literature with postmodern narrative techniques in his narrative called Kuşlar Yasına Gider. These products can be specified as the folk story called Köroğlu Destanı and some folk songs specific to our folk literature. It has been seen that Hasan Ali Toptaş's narrative named Kuşlar Yasına Gider has an intertextual relationship with the folk epic named Köroğlu Destanı, which is one of the products of Turkish folk literature. It has been seen that this intertextual relationship, which makes the narrative called Kuşlar Yasına Gider both postmodern and multi-layered, enriches the thematic structure of the work. In this study, instead of the metafiction characteristic of postmodern texts, intertextual relations will be studied. The intertextual relationship between Hasan Ali Toptaş's narrative Kuşlar Yasına Gider and the Azerbaijani variation of the folk tale Köroğlu Epic translated by İsa Öztürk; It will be examined in the context of the theory of intertextuality specific to postmodern texts and it will be tried to explain how the intertextual relationship in the narrative is formed with parody and pastiche features, supported by quotations from the text.
