In the composition of nasihatnames, many sources were used. At times, the extent of such use exceeded natural limits, and it was observed that various nasihatnames contain direct quotations from different works. One such author who benefited and made quotations from various works while composing his Nasihatname is Kasim Shaybani, a 16th century poet. In the study, it was identified common expressions and similar phrasing between the author’s aforementioned work and the Mawlid of Sheikh Esref. This study was conducted to determine whether the expressions and phrasings in the Nasihatname were influenced by the Mawlid. Firstly information was provided on Sheikh Esref and Shaybani, and the sole extant copy of the Nasihatname was introduced. Subsequently, the common expressions and phrasings were presented to the attention of researchers, tracing the influence of the Mawlid extending nearly a century later. Finally, assessments were made regarding the impact of Mawlid on the Nasihatname.
