Abstract
ABOUT THE EXISTENCE AND CULTURE OF TURKMEN IN AFGHANISTAN
Today Afghan territory has hosted many civilizations. Starting with Akhun and Saka continued with Seljuk raids to Afghanistan. Today Uzbek, Turkmen, Halac, Tatar, Kyrgyz, Kazakh, Qizilbash, Qaraqalpaq, the Avsars live in Afghanistan. Here is a large Turk existence in the territory of Afghanistan. Turkmen are the largest population of Turkish tribes After Uzbek. Turkmen especially live in the North of Afghanistan also called South Turkistan. Turkmen in Afghanistan classify themselves as citizen.
Turks in Afghanistan do their education at the language of Persian and Arabic. Arabic alphabet is used at correspondence, printed Works and daily life. Turkmen Turkish never be the language of education. Turkmen do not know the rules of their own language grammar because of using own language only speaking language. Although a word has a meaning in Turkish, Turkmen use many word from language of Persian and Arabic. This situation caused the domination Arabic and Persian Language on Turkmen Turkish.
Most of the Turkmen is Persianism without living northern of the Afghanistan. Under the influence of Persian language Turkmen who lost their language among themselves is called Dari (a dialect of Persian Language) Turkmen.
Afghan Turkmen keep some cultures comes from back alive apart from have forgotten some customs and traditions. Despite Turkmen live in separate regions in the territory of Afghanistan, customs and traditions is not differ from one another in the large proportion. Culture of Turkmen is similar to Uzbeks’ who lives together in the most places with Uzbek.
