Determination of homonymic words in the historical and contemporary Turkish written languages and the factors that cause homonymy will reveal preferences for these items, the possibilities of production in language in terms of meeting various concepts and the vocabulary of written texts in this context. In this study, some Turkish and foreign origin lexical entries indicated as homonymic in the dictionary or index sections of the related works, the words which can be counted in this kind with utilizations in different texts, structure, semantic, usage characteristics affecting homonymy were revealed by scanning the papers of Khwarazm Turkish period texts. In the study, it is determined that there are many homonymic words in Khwarazm Turkish texts and various factors such as homonymic bases, homographic derivational affixes, different derivational affixes inbound to different bases, words derived from these affixes and sound events, sound identities, ellipsis, analogy create homonymy.
