Poems on Karabakh theme in Azerbaijan literature were reviewed in the article. All those poems were grouped under the headings Motherland, mountain, grave. In the poems expressing longing for the homeland emphasized the confrontation between the poet and his lost place of residence. Adesire to return to their own lost homeland is often expressed with a longing for fly. Expressions of past happy days and events are also frequently found in the poems. In the verses analyzed in the article, the author defined that the poets expressed their hope for return to their native land by means of the particles (if, only, if only, if i could go, etc.) and their homesickness was demonstrated with the help of the negative verbs. Such mental states as powerlessness, hopelessness, despair, etc. were also used in the poems, but the expectation of rescue from captivity was implemented by the mystical powers.
