Özet

The biographical novel can be briefly defined as a novel genre in which the life of a deceased or living person is presented in a fictional framework. Murat Koç, who is also an academician and literary researcher, authored three biographical novels: Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar’ın Son Savunması-Her Şey Bana Karşı (2016), Kırık Kalemli Kadınlar (2021), and Ben Cahit Sıtkı-Sesim Sessizliğim Oldu (2024). In Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar’ın Son Savunması-Her Şey Bana Karşı, Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar’s life is novelized; in Kırık Kalemli Kadınlar, Nigâr Hanım’s biography is narrated in a fictional framework and the lives of pioneering women, including Makbule Leman, Fatma Aliye Hanım, and Emine Semiye, are presented; and in Ben Cahit Sıtkı-Sesim Sessizliğim Oldu, the tragic life of Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı, one of the poets of the Republican Era, is covered. The present study provides general information about the genre of biographical novels, and then discusses the author’s last novel Ben Cahit Sıtkı-Sesim Sessizliğim Oldu as a biographical novel, and also analyzes it thematically in chapters and aims to introduce it. In this regard, all efforts were made to identify and interpret the distinctive features of the novel.
