MU’ÎNÜ’L MÜRÎD’DE YER ALAN MENTAL FİİLLER

Özet

Verbs are types of words that describe any concrete or abstract movement, formation, state and behavior of an entity or concept. They also have functions as lexical units that establish and develop syntactic and semantic structures in a sentence. Verbs have different meanings and functions depending on the context. Because of these features, verbs are examined by dividing them into different groups. Mental verbs are verbs that describe situations and events that occur through the mind, do not correspond to any movement, sometimes occur voluntarily and sometimes involuntarily, and have a versatile range of meanings that express mental states and processes, emotions, behaviors, desires and wishes and perceptions. In this study, the mental verbs used in the verse didactic work Mu’înü’l- Mürîd, written in historical Khwarezm Turkish in the 14th century, are examined. Identified mental verbs are divided into four main categories; each category is divided into subgroups within itself. The subheadings formed outside the four main headings are shaped according to the context of the work.
