This qualitative research, which cares about the use of Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Turk, one of the important cultural assets of the Turkish world, in Turkish language and literature education, was designed with a single survey model. In the research, data were collected from primary sources by documentary scanning method. The first use of Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Turk texts in textbooks is in the book titled Turk Edebiyati Numuneleri (1926). Twelve poems and eight arguments used in this book constitute the study area of this research. The texts used in the study area were translated into Turkish alphabet and the usage of these texts in the works prepared by Besim Atalay and published in three volumes under the title Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Turk Tercumesi were determined. The data obtained were analysed by content analysis method and the similarities and differences between the texts in their spelling and translation into Turkey Turkish were determined. In the book titled Turk Edebiyati Numuneleri (1926), it was determined that some gestures were not used in spelling; Atalay explained the translations and gave information on the use of arguments. From the research data, it was concluded that the texts and translations of Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Turk used in the book titled Turk Edebiyati Numuneleri (1926) were consistent. It is thought that the research data concerning the historical development of Turkish language and literature education will contribute to this field.
