KUR’AN-I KERİM’DEKİ MERḤABA KELİMESİ, YAPISAL ANALİZİ, ANLAMI VE KULLANIMI

Özet

The basic meaning of the word merhaba, which passed from Arabic to Turkish, is not sufficiently known. Our research aims to clarify the word merḥaba, also a Quranic word, by going to the relevant sources. For this purpose, starting from the Semitic languages, the sources of Arabic poetry, lexicon and terminology of the Pre-Islamic Period were scanned and the obtained data were evaluated by combining them with the data in the commentaries. The word merḥaba is used in two consecutive verses and hadiths in the Quran. It was also used for love, respect, compliment and esteem in Ottoman Turkish poetry and especially in religious poetry products such as mawlid, kaside and miraciye. Merḥaba was first used in the sixth century AD and later continued to be used with the same wording and meaning structure in Arabic poetry of the Pre-Islamic and Islamic periods. Since no study has been found on this subject in our research, we have made use of Semitic languages, Arabic poetry of the pre-Islamic period, lexicon, terminology and tafsir sources. In the verse translations, a single source has been adhered to and is shown in the bibliography. We hope that our study will contribute to the field by drawing attention to Quranic words that have found a place in Turkish.
