Minstrels are the mirror of society and they have undertaken important duties in transmitting and spreading the values of society to future generations. Âşık Şenlik, who lived at the end of the 19th century, influenced many minstrels during his time and in the period after him. The purpose of this study is to examine and evaluate Âşık Şenlik's poems in terms of values education. The work titled “Çıldırlı Âşık Şenlik Divanı” (His Life-Poems- Struggles and Stories) (2006), prepared by Ali Berat Alptekin and M. Nizameddin Coşkun, was meticulously scanned and 180 poems were included in the 2019 Turkish Lesson (Primary and Secondary School 1st-8th Grades). It was examined within the framework of the 10 root values and other values in the Curriculum. In this study, case study, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. Descriptive analysis technique was used to analyze the data obtained. The frequency and percentage of each value were calculated and shown in tables. It has been determined that the value that Âşık Şenlik gives the most place to in his poems is religion, and the value that he gives the least place to is solidarity. No findings were found regarding the values of responsibility, scientificity, sensitivity and tolerance. It has been concluded that Çıldırlı Âşık Şenlik's poems have a rich content in terms of values and that this work can be used as a source text in Turkish textbooks.
