MELİH CEVDET ANDAY’IN AYLAKLAR ROMANINDA HAYALLER

Özet

Melih Cevdet Anday discussed the emotional and psychological states of fictional characters in detail in Aylaklar. Characters, seek their existence in the future rather than the present, in dreams rather than reality. Şükrü Pasha Mansion, the setting of the novel, is at the center of the dreams in the work. Şükrü Pasha Mansion was destroyed as a result of the idle lives of its inhabitants. In this study, the dreams of the heroes in the novel Aylaklar are focused on, and the individual and social effects of these dreams are touched upon, based on the characters’ relationships with each other and with life. The dreams of the heroes are discussed based on the dream concepts of Sigmund Freud, Carl Gustav Jung and Gaston Bachelard, and idleness and idle states are discussed based on the approaches of Georg Simmel, Walter Benjamin and David Le Breton to this concept and situation.
