Letâyifü'l-Hikâyât, which contains mostly Aesop narratives and is in the Library of the Turkish Language Institution with the registration number TDK A306, is a work that exemplifies the Old Anatolian Turkish period. The work reflects the classical characteristics of this period in terms of spelling. Letâyifü’l-Hikâyât, which was written in a clear and simple language compared to its period in order to be read and understood by the public, is also a strong work in terms of its literary aspect. In addition to the language features of the period, it is possible to see archaic elements and local expressions in the work. The work, which has both Arabic-Persian and Uyghur orthography features in Old Anatolian Turkish, has the quality of opening the door to new information and interpretations about the relevant language period. In this article, the language and orthographic features of the work are briefly discussed.
