In mother tongue teaching, vocabulary plays an important role in the development of students' four basic language skills. Individuals who form receptive vocabulary with the words they acquire from listening and reading express their feelings and thoughts with productive vocabulary while speaking and writing. In the development and transfer of receptive vocabulary, literary works play an important role in addition to Turkish textbooks, which are the main source. The aim of this study is to examine the elements of stereotyped vocabulary in Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı's poems. The study was designed according to qualitative research design. As a result of the study, it was determined that a total of 441 elements of stereotyped vocabulary were used in Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı's poems, 291 of these elements were idioms, 122 of them were formulaic expressions, 24 of them were reduplications and four of them were proverbs.
