Tahir Karauguz, known as the first journalist and printer of Zonguldak, is also a Kuvayımilliye poet, writer and politician. Karauğuz, who published eleven newspapers and five magazines throughout his press life, also published forty-one different books in the Karaelmas Printing House he founded in Zonguldak; He wrote or published nineteen of these books himself. Karauğuz, the owner of the Independence Medal, who took an active role in Zonguldak and its surroundings during the War of Independence, laid down his weapon after the declaration of the Republic and continued to serve his country with his pen. Karauğuz, a Turkist writer, played an active role in the Turkishization activities during the Language Revolution. He compiled many words from Zonguldak and its surroundings through Zonguldak People’s House and sent them to the Turkish Language Association. His works titled Guide to Pure Turkish Names, “Öz Türk Adları Kılavuzu” Experiments on Suffixes and Roots, and Tools for Language Research “Ekler Kökler Üzerinde Deneçler Dil Araştırmalarına Gereçler” also show the importance he gave to the Turkish language. In this study, the words in Karauguz's work titled Experiments on Suffixes and Roots, and Tools for Language Research “Ekler Kökler Üzerinde Deneçler Dil Araştırmalarına Gereçler” were examined and the words that were not in the Derleme Sozlugu or not witnessed in the Zonguldak region were determined and thus it was aimed to contribute to the Derleme Sozlugu
