Abstract
Bu çalışmada, üniversite öğrencilerinde umut ve kişilik özelliklerinin öğrencilerin azim düzeyleri üzerindeki yordayıcı etkisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada ayrıca, anne baba birliktelik durumuna ve algılanan gelir düzeyine göre öğrencilerin azim, umut ve kişilik özellikleri arasındaki farklılaşmanın anlamlı düzeyde olup olmadığı ele alınmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma evreni, Balıkesir il merkezinde bulunan Balıkesir Necatibey Eğitim Fakültesi’nin 2020-2021 öğretim yılında öğrenim hayatına devam eden öğrencilerinden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini ise bu evren içerisinden uygun örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilmiş, 193’ü kadın (% 77,5), 56’sı erkek(% 22,5) toplam 249 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Örneklem grubundaki öğrencilerin yaşlarının 18-32 aralığında olduğu görülmüştür. (𝑋̅=19,86 Ss= 2,27). Araştırmada veri toplama yöntemlerinden kişisel bilgi formu, Kısa Azim Ölçeği, Sürekli Umut Ölçeği, Beş Faktör Kişilik Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre, öğrencilerin umut ve kişilik özelliklerinin öğrencilerin azim düzeylerini anlamlı bir şekilde yordadığı, umut ve kişilik özelliklerinin birlikte azim puanlarındaki değişimin %43’ünü açıkladığı görülmüştür. Ebeveynlerin birliktelik durumuna göre azim ve umut puanları arasında anlamlı bir farklılaşmanın olmadığı bulgulanmıştır. Ebeveynlerin birliktelik durumuna göre kişilik özelliklerinden gelişime açıklık puan ortalamaları açısından ebeveynleri birlikte olan bireylerin puanları ile ebeveynleri ayrı olan bireylerin puanları arasında ebeveynleri ayrı olan bireyler lehine anlamlı bir farkın olduğu saptanmıştır. Son olarak öğrencilerin algılanan gelir düzeyi açısından azim, umut ve kişilik özellikleri arasında anlamlı bir farklılaşmanın olmadığı görülmüştür.

Özet
In this study, it was aimed to examine the predictive effects of hope and personality traits on students' perseverance levels in university students. In the study, it was also discussed whether there was a significant difference between the determination, hope and personality traits of the students according to whether the parents were married or not and the perceived income level. The study population of the research is the students of Balıkesir Necatibey Education Faculty in the 2020-2021 academic year. The sample of the study consists of 249 students, 193 female (77.5%) and 56 male (22.5%) selected by convenient sampling method from this universe. It was observed that the ages of the students in the sample group were between 18-32. (𝑋̅=19.86 Sd=2.27). Personal information form, Brief Perseverance Scale, Persistent Hope Scale, and Five Factor Personality Scale were used as data collection methods in the study. According to the findings obtained from the study, it was seen that students' hope and personality traits predicted students' perseverance levels significantly, and that hope and personality traits together explained 43% of the change in perseverance scores. It was found that there was no significant difference between the perseverance and hope scores of the parents according to the state of being together. It was determined that there was a significant difference between the scores of the individuals whose parents were together and the scores of the individuals whose parents were separated, in favor of the individuals whose parents were separated, in terms of the mean scores of openness to development from personality traits according to the coexistence of the parents. Finally, it was observed that there was no significant difference between perseverance, hope and personality traits in terms of students' perceived income level.
